Cakes
I am not very good and it takes me a long time, but I do enjoy making cakes for friends and family that I think they will enjoy, or hopefully make their day just a little bit better. Here are some of my creations...

June 16, 2018 - Gram's Retirement Party Andy, the superstar developer for whom I've made several baby shower cakes over the years, was leaving the company for another job. I made him a cake that looks like his favorite food. He will be missed. |

June 16, 2018 - Gram's Retirement Party Marty's Mom finally retired from being a kindergarten teacher, so I tried to make a cake to celebrate her joining the "Every Day is Saturday" club. |

May 24, 2018 - Chris's Farewell Party Chris, who I have worked with almost daily for the last 10 years, was leaving the company for another job. So of course I made him a cake. Chris likes to hunt and target shoot with his son, and he likes to drink coffee. He will be missed. |

April 1, 2018 - Easter I let Sami pick out most of the recipes for Easter - she picked these mini-cheesecakes, decorated with little "nests" on top made of toasted coconut and candy robin eggs. |

March 10, 2018 - Lexi's Birthday Party (Cake) For her birthday party, Lexi said she wanted cupcakes and spring colors this year. So I went with a spring theme for her party and made cupcakes into a couple flower bouquets. |

March 10, 2018 - Lexi's Birthday Party (Veggie Tray) Everyone assumed I would do a horse cake for Lexi's party, but she's had a horse-themed cake before, so I created a veggie tray in the form of a horse for her. This was the hit of the party! |

March 9, 2018 - Lexi's Actual Birthday Since Lexi's birthday was on a weekday, we celebrated with the family on the weekend, but I did make her a very tasty carrot cake in my new cast iron bundt pan as a special dessert on her actual birthday. It's not fancy but it tasted GREAT. |

December 6, 2017 - Andy's Baby Shower Superstar developer, Andy, on my team at work, is having his third child (and first boy). I knew he liked chocolate chip cookies, so I made a big one. |

October 11, 2017 - Sami's Birthday Sami asked for cupcakes and a Paris theme, so I did some white and some chocolate cupcakes - some with a homemade lemon curd filling and some with homemade strawberry preserves filling, placed on a cupcake holder that is supposed to resemble the eiffel tower. |

May 4, 2017 - Kathryn's Birthday Kathryn is on a paleo diet (and generally doesn't like sweets anyway), so this gave me an opportunity to make this veggie train that I've wanted to do for a while. |

March 22, 2017 - Work Celebration We had a party to celebrate the general availability release of version 17.1 of our product, so of course I volunteered to make a cake. Notivation is our team name. |

March 9, 2017 - Lexi's 9th Birthday Lexi wanted her cake to be a surprise, but she listed off about a million animals that she liked. So I went animal-themed. |

October 11, 2010 - Sami's 5th Birthday This is the first cake I ever made in my life. I wanted my little princess to have a homemade princess cake on her 5th birthday. I figured out how to do it by watching a YouTube video and tweaked it a little bit. This is the cake that started it all. |
