We drug poor Lexi out of bed at 5:00 in the morning (without waking Samantha) to take her to Rex hospital to get her tonsils out. Papa and Gram met us there and provided some distraction to a very confused Lexi while we waited. We got her registered and everything and gave us her little gown and socks to put on her (which took some time to convince her to put them on). Then they gave her a shot of "happy juice" and she got all giddy. Afterwards when they let us go back to her in recovery she was NOT happy but I laid in the bed with her for a little while and she calmed down and started drinking her juice. So they took the IV out and let us take her home. The last picture is on the trip home. Poor baby. But I am grateful that my parents came to keep Samantha while we were gone and take her to school and everything - it was a great distraction for Sami who would have worried herself (and us) crazy if they had not been here. I am grateful to Marty's parents who provided great distraction and support at the hospital, before, during, and after the surgery. I am grateful to Laura for coming and sitting with us at the hospital on her day off - that was really nice of her. And I am very grateful for the ENR surgeon and staff at Rex - they were amazing, they really cared about her comfort and ours and seemed to bend over backwards to make everything go as smoothly as possible for all of us.
