Lexi had to have a lot of dental work done, so we opted to get it all done at the same time in the hospital under anesthesia. We got up at 4:20am, and got Lexi to Wake Med at 5:30am. Got her checked in and we went back to triage - they gave her some "happy juice". I can't believe I forgot my camera!! I snapped a couple of shots with my phone while we were waiting in triage. Anyway, they did the work without any issues. Unfortunately recovery did not go as well as when she got her tonsils out - she was gagging and gasping for air a lot this time and that kind of freaked me out. The nurse was very patient with Lexi and with me. Anyway, she had 4 crowns (her front 4 top teeth) and 6 fillings and some sealants. Apparently her baby teeth did not form correctly when she was younger and hopefully now that we've taken care of it (and take good care of all her teeth) we shouldn't have too many more issues and her permanent teeth were not affected. (Although they did mention that a couple of molars weren't showing up on x-rays yet, so they aren't sure if she just won't have them or if what. Anyway, in true "kid" form, after we got home from the hospital and she had another nap or two, it was all we could do to try to get her not to run around too crazy and try to get her to take it easy. She seems to be adjusting to her "special new teeth" as she calls them pretty well.
