Sami's class had a field trip to the Vollmer Farm in Bunn, NC. It was a long and exhausting, but fun day! We arrived and grouped together with our class. Then we took the hayride around the farm. Then we saw some chickens and listened to a presentation about how chickens lay eggs and such. Then we saw a field of sunflowers and took some class pictures. Then we saw a variety of animals - baby pigs (SO cute!!) goats, bunny rabbits, a donkey, some baby chicks and baby ducklings, and a baby cow. Then off to one of the several playgrounds, most of which Sami spent in a hay fight with the boys! Then the kids enjoyed a really long slide, and then over to another playground (toys made out of tires). Then we had lunch by the pond (for the few minutes we could keep the kids still enough to eat something) and then off to the "corn crib". They played in the corn for a while and then over to the huge trampoline/bouncer! What fun! After that we went through the corn maze for quite a while. Then we picked out a pumpkin and (slowly) made our way back to the car. On the way out, we stopped by the store and got some homemade ice cream and a couple toys (I got some local honey). Sami fell asleep on the way home (which is a testament to how tired she was because usually she can't get comfortable enough in the Mustang to go to sleep).
